  • Overview

     

    Under general supervision is responsible for planning, organizing, and general oversight of the Company’s database administration; plans, designs, administers, maintains, develops, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security, availability, and integrity of the Company’s data through use of relational database technology.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyzes, assesses, evaluates, and forecasts all company data and database requirements, changes, and adjustments
    • Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance rules, procedures and codes; ensuring availability, reliability, and quality
    • Establishes and maintains necessary procedures, tools, processes, etc. to ensure adequate security and control over access to, and use of, company data
    • Provides second level technical support to all users of Company database through coordination with Software Development and Help Desk
    • Establishes and maintains adequate database documentation; enabling planning, diagnostics, and efficient resource allocation and utilization
    • Resolves database performance, reliability, replication, capacity, and other distributed data architecture deficiencies
    • Designs and implements database back-up and recovery methodologies
    • Provides direct support to other IS groups through management of data dictionary, scripts, and other related database management support services
    • Prompt and regular attendance is required

    Qualifications

    Job Requirements:

    • 5 years of experience in Information Services
    • Sybase ASE, Replication Server and SQL Anywhere experience required
    • Three years of DBA and/or Software Development experience
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and project management skills
    • Management experience preferred
    • Computer literate with strong Excel skills

     

    Physical Requirements:

    This is an office position that consistently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Requires the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

     

    Educational Requirements:

    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
